the blade
– June 7-8, 2025 –
The first half of a two part, intensive course on forging the most legendary of knives.
Over two days you will forge a classic blade from your own billet of pattern-welded damascus steel. Learn about steel selection and precision forge welding, the manipulation of layers and patterns; forging, heat-treating, blade design and finishing specific to big knives.
At the end of the weekend you will have a complete blade, ready for adding an ornate handle and furniture in Pt II.

Class runs 9am-5pm, Saturday-Sunday.
All tools, materials, and safety equipment provided.
Lunch and hydration included.
This is an intermediate level course, Students should have a degree of forging experience .
Not suited for beginners.
