Stag knives have a character all their own - rugged, yet refined. This weekend course is an intensive first step in forging superior stick-tang blades for hunting or general outdoor use.
Moving on from Bladesmith I, you will learn:
Principles of clip-point forging
How to work with bone and antler handles
Forging unbreakable tangs
Fitting brass guards and pommels
Advanced steel and brass polishing
Metallurgy. heat-treating, steel selection, sharpening and more.
Working independently under close instruction, you will learn through experience as you complete your own heirloom blade.
All tools, materials and safety equipment are included. Students should wear sturdy footwear and cotton or wool clothing. No Synthetics!
Forging or knifemaking experience is helpful but not required.
. Class runs 9am-5pm, Saturday-Sunday.
